Overview
Pros
- Teleportation: Toss an ender pearl for free and with a VERY quick cooldown. NICE!
- Slender Body: You can reach blocks and entities further away.
Cons
- Scared of Gourds: Anyone wearing a pumpkin is invisible to you. Is this really a con?
- Hydrophobia: You take damage from swimming in water and being in rain.
Origin Playstyle
You get the ability to teleport by throwing ender pearls with a quick cooldown in exchange for taking damage from water. As long as you aren't super worried about going to visit oceans or water in general this is a great origin.
Gameplay
Teleportation
Your ability to teleport is helpful in so many situations. With infinite enderpearl like teleports you'll be able to do a variety of things consistently such as:
- Teleporting up vertically is much easier. Mountains, pits, and cliffs are all much more easily traversable.
- End island exploration is assisted massively by your ability to simply toss a pearl to the next nearby island saving you precious time of getting those ender pearls manually.
- Escaping enemies is free and easy. As long as you time it right you can escape a lot of dangerous situations with a teleport.
- Avoid dangerous traps you'd trigger if you simply walked to the same location. Disarm those same traps so your friends can go in safely too.
- Various other uses like tight spaces or falls that seem dangerous.
Hydrophobia
This is your only problem you'll have with this origin. As long as you aren't super worried about visiting the ocean early game this is managable. What you'll want to worry about is walking into water or being rained on. If you really need to go into the ocean or rain it's very critical you get your hands on the water protection enchantment which is your only chance to get rid of this inconvenient negative. You can also base inside a desert or savanna to not have to deal with rain.
